Stomach Burning, Blood In Stool. Should I See A Doctor?

Hello, I have had a strong burning sensation in my stomach yesterday and today and had what seemed like a bloody stool a couple of times today. The symptoms have somewhat resided compared to earlier in the day. Should I go and see a doctor or wait a few more bowel moments before doing so? Also, I had very spicy food yesterday. Could this be the cause?

hello,

Thank you for the query.
Spicy food may be the cause for the blood in your stool but still consulting your doctor is needed as if your loose more blood then you need to be loaded with iv fluids to prevent shock. And you can also rule out the other causes of bleeding. If you have hemorrhoids and you strained then that may also be the reason for the bleeding. After your doctor examine that they may prescribe you the drugs accordingly.Thank you.

Hi, Thanks for using HCM.

Burning stomach could be due to gastritis from spicy food.
You can take Pantoprazole 40mg for 5 days to reduce acidity before food.
Blood in stools, weather its a fresh blood or darkened one. fresh blood could from lower intestine could be due to food poisoning.
Take lot of fluid to maintain hydration.
ORS
If your symptoms continues, Consult your doctor for examination and management.
Hope I answered your question. Feel free to ask me if you have any further queries.
Wish you good health. Take care.

Hi, many thanks for the query!
Blood in stools is suggesting "Haemorrhoides" if associated WITH pain in anal region on/during defaecation: External haemorrhoides or also anal fissure,
if NO pain then internal haemorrhoides.
Per Rectal Examination & Proctoscopy is a must for diagnosis, to be done by a general surgeon.
Appropriate management of the haemorrhoides as per their degree
to be done by a general surgeon, once diagnosis is confirmed &
Hb correction if deranged.
Your's is a typical picture of acid peptic disease.
You should decrease amount of spices in your food at least for 2 months constantly.
Eat high fibre diet, green leafy vegetables, Drink plenty of water.
Do- USG (Abdo-Pelvis), Hb, CBC.
Take Ilaprazole, antispasmodics, Sucralfate with your doctor's opinion.
Wish you a good health.
Take care.
Regards.
