Stiffness in right shoulder joint, severe pain on stretching. Treatment?

I have a constant pain/ stiffness in my right shoulder joint . It started when I pulled my hand down quickly from the straight upright position ignoring the lock in the shoulder, about two months ago. Since then the pain has been troubling and I find it difficult to reach behind my back with the right hand as the shoulder pains. I am otherwise able to perform all actions. What should I do to treat it.

Hi Sanjeev,
Thanks for writing your query.

It seems that you had a muscle pull at your shoulder joint.

You should give proper rest to your shoulder. Do not lift heavy weights from that side.

Pain killers like Diclofenac 50 mg twice a day after meals along with antacid like Omeprazole 20 mg along with muscle relaxant like Tizanidine 2 mg twice a day for 5-7 days will provide some relief.
Take medicines under medical supervision only. Hot fomentation and application of local pain relieving gel will be helpful.

Physiotherapy is very beneficial in such cases.

If the problem persists, get yourself examined by an Orthopedician.

I hope this is helpful to ou.
