Started On Estrogen Pill After Hysterectomy, Changed To Vivelle. Have Stomach Pain, Diarrhea. Any Suggestions ?
I recently had a robotic complete hysterectomy. They started me on estrogen pill starter dose and changed me to Vivelle Dot patch to help with emotions at my 6 week postoperative appt.
I have been severely sick to my stomach, feverish, severe diarrhea, etc. for a little over a week now. At first didn't know if it was the new med they started before surgery, but am feeling pretty confident after looking up side effects on this site that it is from the patches!! I took off my patch just a bit ago after becoming very sick very quickly again. So sick to my stomach & weak. It hit me during the night a couple of days ago, and woke up my hubby thinking I may go to the ER I was so sick. Any suggestions to help get it out of my system before I can call tomorrow? I have a feeling I will have to just be sick all night again. Looking forward to some advice for this evening!! Thank you... AAAAA

Since you have already removed the patch, the side effects will be less and it is unlikely that you may fall sick again. Nevertheless, you may use some antispasmodic and anti-diarrheal medication to keep things at bay. Also, try to take more liquids to wash out the medication from your system. You may opt for oral medication or use simple measures like using loose fitting clothes, doing regular weight-bearing exercises and healthy diet. Smoking and alcohol aggravate the effects of the hormone. Hope you find this information useful. Wish you good health.
