Spot On Tongue, Not Bleeding Or Painful, Smooth, Shiney

I had a spot That looked like a bite on the top far right side of my tongue almost two weeks ago. The spot has spread along the whole right side where it looks as if a layer of the right side of my tongue has eroded away. It is not bloody or painful, but is smooth and in shiney in places. There is also a small area same condition on the front of tongue.

Dear friend.

Thanks for sharing your concern.

The history suggests that the papillae on your tongue on the affected side is inflamed.thus has turned smooth and shiny.

But please mention complete history before any exact diagnosis can be given.

A similar phenomenon is called geographic tongue,it could be that also.

But complete description like its duration ,site ,size, aggravating factors and reliving factors along with frequency of occurrences is desired.

Take care.

Thanks.
