Orthopaedic Surgeon, Joint Replacement Dr. K. Naga Ravi Prasad's  Response
Hi, thanks for writing to HCM.
Generally, degenerative changes in the spine are common in elderly age groups.
Non surgical management of his spinal problem include
* Always sleep on a flat and hard surface
* avoid forward bending and lifting any weights
* Use Lumbosacral spine support
* Physiotherapy for strengthening of back muscles
* Ocassional analgesic and muscle relaxant medications
Consult an orthopedic surgeon / Spine surgeon and follow his advice accordingly. Hope this helps
