Small Child, Vomiting After Eating Anything In The Morning, Switched Diet, Symptoms Persists. Suggestions?
Dear Sir, My daughter s age is 4 yrs 10 months. She invariably vomits after having some food in the morning. We stopped giving her milk in the morning and substituted it with small bits of roti, sooji etc. but vomiting does not seem to stop. Otherwise, she is fine and does not seem to have any problem. Please suggest what should we do ? Kind Regards
Hello
Frequent early morning vomiting in a well female child of age 4-5 year without any obvious abnormality is suggestive of cyclic vomiting syndrome. If mother had same history in past then its more suggestive. But before making a diagnosis of cyclic vomiting syndrome other causes should be ruled out by thorough investigations like complete blood count, renal function test, liver function test, upper g.i. endoscopy, USG abdomen, metabolic scrrening and urine examination.
If it is CVS then it usually resolves itself by conservative management over a period of time.
So I would suggest you to consult your physician for diagnosis of the condition and management accordingly.
Regards
Hi, Morning vomiting may be a sign of school phobia!
Are you sending her to school or play school?
If the vomiting persists throughout the day, then you have to think of other causes and show her to the doctor.Good luck
