Small Child, Fever, Vomiting, Stomach Upset. Viral Infection?

My daughter has been running a fever of about 99 to 102 since saturday. today and last night it was about 97 the school just called she was vomiting .. no fever 98 .5. she has been complaining about her stomach off and on, no runs or chills, took her to the clinic monday they said she had a virus lasting 4 days, she could return to school today

From your query, what you need is know is not clear. You have not mentioned the age or weight of your child too.

Fever with abdominal pain and vomiting, can well be a virus as your doctor says.
Give her Acetaminophen in a dose of 15mg/kg/dose repeated every 6 hrs for fever.
For vomiting, domperidone syrup will help her.
Give her plenty of fluids such as juice/ milk/ soups/ porridge etc.

If her food intake is poor/ activity is poor/ fever does not subside, do visit your doctor again.
Wish your daughter a speedy recovery.

Yes, gastrointestinal infection can present in varied forms. Fever and vomitings can be the initial presentation with diarrhoea following. Viral infections are known to present this way and your daughter may be suffering from it.
