My husband has been on tramadol for abut five years (4 x 50mg) for arthritus in shoulder for the past nine months he has had severe siatica and the doctor told him to up the dose of tramadol to 6 x 50mg a day he has now been told to reduce to 4 x 50mg
Has cut this down to 1 x50mg 3 times a day but experiencing cannot sleep - restless legs - hot and cold sweats
would like to come off tramadol altogether any advice

Tramadom is trong painkiller which acn cause physical addiction so it must be prescribed with caution always. In your case it seems like he has symptoms of too fast tramadol cutting down. He cant quit it suddenly,it must be gradually and when he starts to feel such unpleasant symptoms he should increase dose and then try again to lower it. He can try with 4-5 tbl per day and then cut 1/4 of tbl every few days. Also there are certain medicines for symptoms you re describing,ask you GP about this. WIsh you good health.
