Should Surgery Be Done For The Second Time For The Cysts In The Uterus?

My daughter is 28, unmarried, no children, her right ovary had a cyst which ruptured she was operated on, they found 2 more very large cysts inside her right ovary, but never removed them, the operation consisted of a Laparoscopy - 3 other puncture wound, one for a drain and 2 either side of her naval for washing her out with 7 litres of saline. A few weeks later after her operation, she was in terrible pain again, she was taken to hospital and both cysts where removed. 7 weeks later she went in for a ultra sound and they found a 9cm simplex cyst, a different type of cyst from the others. Should she be operated on again?

Hi,

What was the biopsy report of previous ovarian cysts? She can repeat the scan after 2 months. If not decreasing in size, she will need surgery to avoid torsion.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr B. Radhakrishnan. Nair, OBGYN
