Should I Take Morning After Pill After Having Unprotected Sex While I Am Undergoing A Medical Abortion?
Hi I had a medical abortion 13 days ago the nurse checked and the fetus was there. I have stopped heavily bleeding it s just bit brown now . I started cerazette contraception pill the day I had the abortion.& have been taking it same time everyday . Last night I had sex didn t use a condom. Tested this morning and the test shows a strong positive ? Surely this cnt be from having sex last night or is it because it s only been 13 days since abortion. I m Wondering if I should go get the morning after pill? Feel like I still have the metal taste too. Many thnks for reading Gemma
If you are using cerazette already then there is not need for morning after pill. However the strong positive urine test is a bit of surprise. It may come from an incomplete abortion. It is not from the sex one night ago.
I suggest that you wait for a week and retest. If still positive, get an ultrasound to see if there is any remaining tissue inside. Meanwhile if you experience cramping and bleeding see your doctor. Hope this satisfies your query. Thanks for using HCM. Feel free to ask any more questions that you may have. Dr Madhuri Bagde Consultant Obstetrician and Gynecologist
