Should I See Hematologist For Lung Fungus?

I am a 78 year old male who was in very good health until I developed a lung fungus - my lung specialist says I am improving but my white blood cell count is low - have had 6 blood tests and latest shows lower white blood cell count then previous 5. Should I be seeing a hemotologist?

In fungal infection total wbc count is usually not raised unless there is associated secondary bacterial infection. So if your pulmonologist is saying that you are recovering than no need to worry. And in old age healing and recovery takes time as body function is slow in this age.
