Should I Be Worried After Giving Piriton Syrup Accidentally To A 2 Year Old Child?

I have accidentally given my son 5ml of piriton syrup instead of the 2.5ml prescribed dose. He is aged 2 years and 3 months. No signs of vomitting or temperature. (He's been given ibuprofen for teething pain as well). He's sound asleep at the moment. Should I be worried?

Welcome to Healthcare-Magic
Greetings of the day

There is no reason for worry. It contains Chlorpheniramine malleate, which is a antihistaminic with sedative property. It will just cause some amount of oversedation.
Give him plenty of oral fluids when he gets up.

In case you need any further assistance, will be glad to assist you.

Wishing you happy and healthy life

Take Care
