Should I Be Worried About Positive For Flu Strand A?

My 1 year old son, has had a fever off and on for the last 4 days. First, my husband was sick, our doctor gave him nasonex, and some steroid shots. Then, my 1 year old son, began to get sick, developed a fever that has gone away and come back the last 4 days. The first day of the fever we took him to Pediatrician, and she told us she heard nothing wrong with his lungs or ears. She told us to wait & come back in 3 days if the fever has not gone away. She said he may just want fluids and not want to eat. His weight is already in the 20th percentile and has been that way since birth. I was worried about him losing weight since he wasn t wanting to eat. Yesterday, he was the worst, he looked dehydrated & lethargic. I had been giving him infant s Motrin and water since the first day. We took him to his Pediatrician and she said he looked dehydrated and might have a viral infection and told us to take him down to the Pediatric E.R. They did blood work and used and aspirator to get mucus from his nasal cavity, which they also tested. Then they gave him Pedialyte and attached him to a bag of sodium chloride, as well as gave him childrens motrin. The doctor came back, and told us he tested positive for Flu strand A. She also said he wasn t actually very dehydrated at all but his sodium was low. I asked if there was anything he could take or they could do, she said no. The only thing she said we could do was keep him hydrated with Pedialyte and water and that he will probably be better in the next two days. She said he won t want food because he might throw up. So today, he hasn t really wanted any food, and he has slept all day, only waking up to drink his mixture of Pedialyte and water. Then he puts his head back on my shoulder and goes to sleep again. Should I be worried? Is this a symptom to be concerned with? Should I take him back to the ER?

Hai , I understand how worse it would be for past 4 days . you need not worry until he lands up in fever or becomes dehydrated. flu influenza A is contagious respiratory disease occurring seasonally caused by viral infection. So he will not need any antibiotic, except supportive measures like pedialyte for his dehydration .
Usually viral kind of takes 1 week to settle .Hopefully he should recover in couple of days .

If I need to clear further more , please feel free to ask me.
