Should Birth Control Pills Be Continued When Bleeding Starts Or Wait ?

Hello, I'm having a concern regarding menstruation and birth control. During my last package of pills, I missed quite a few of them. Sometimes I would remember to take 2 (1 when I remember, 1 at regular time, as instructed) but other times I only remembered to take one. When my period arrived, it was very clotted and brown. I have never experienced this, and it has been bleeding on and off a little past seven days. Should I still continue taking the pills or should I wait until the bleeding stops?
