Should I Expect Bleeding After Taking Meprate And Zendol?

I am 33 years old. This month periods were scanty. Ut started on first and is still there till 26th. Spotting and scanty period. Doc advised to take zendol for forty days and meprate to stop the spotting. However after taking meprate for only a day I had withdrawal bleeding for one day. Doc told me to diiscontinue meprate and start from day 5 -day 25....will there be another bleeding if I start meprate from day 5? After stopping meprate after the earlier one day dose bleeding is scanty. Please advise

OBGYN, Maternal and Fetal Medicine 's  Response
Hi,

Meprate and zendol intake usually causes bleeding, if bleeding does not occur first rule out pregnancy, and do a ultrasound.

Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Sujoy S. Bhattacharjee, OBGYN, Maternal and Fetal Medicine
