Should I Do For The Bruise And Pain In My Breast Bone?

Last night my 3 1/2 year old son jumped off the sofa and thought he was going to jump over me but instead landed directly on my breast bone. It hurt tremendously at first but I felt ok before going to bed. Today it feels bruised but it is also painful sometimes when I breathe. Should I be worried?

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

It is just a contusion.

Nothing much to worry and it will settle by itself.

As of now you can use analgesics/anti-inflammatory combination like aceclofenac/serratiopeptidase for symptomatic relief.

You can also ice packs for faster recovery.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Shinas Hussain,
