Should I Be Worried If My Gamma Gt Level Is 271?

I have just found out that my gamma gt level is 271. All the other tests are within normal range. I am not seeing my doctor for another week. Should I be worried? I have been drinking heavy but am trying to stop. Will I be able to cut down on drinking instead of stopping?

Hello
Thanks for writing to HCM

Increased GGT indicates liver injury due to alcohol intake.
You need proper clinical examination and few more investigations.
Other investigations include routine hemogram,RBS(Random blood sugar),Viral markers,Ultrasound of abdomen.Further investigations can be done if needed.

You may need medicines after proper checkup.
You should completely avoid alcohol and increase your physical activity in the form of walking.
Avoid fatty and fried junk food.
Hope i have answered your query.

Take Care
