Shingles In Right Arm From Shoulder To Finger Tips, Pain All The Time. On Lyrica. Anything More To Do ?

I had shingles which started almost 5 years ago. It is in my right arm from above should to finger tips. It is now inside the arm and no outside symtoms. Pain is all the time and if I use the arm to do amy work - I am right handed - the arm aches severly for the next 48 hopurs. I take Lyrica 50mg am noon supper and 75 mg at bed. Helps but also has the effect of being sleepy a;; yhe time. Is there anything more that you think might be done?

Hi,

It seems that you are having post herpetic neuralgia.

It is a complication of herpes zoster , also known as shingles.

Take gabapentin or pregabaline at night.

Take vitamin B 12 .

Take fluoxetine 20 mg daily in morning.

Intradermal steroid injections at affected site may be taken from expert.

You consult dermatologist.

Have patience.

PHN takes long time to recover.
