Sharp Pain During Urination And Blood In Urine. How Long Should I Wait Before Seeing A Doctor?
My father felt a sharp pain while urinating and the urine contained blood. He urinated again later and the urine contained blood and caused a burning sensation. We think it may be due to a kidney stone or over consumption of energy drinks. What, in your opinion, should be done? How long should we wait to see if it clears up before going to the urologist.
Hello Thanks for your query, based on the facts that you have posted it appears that your father has hematuria and dysuria. You have not mentioned his age in your query.
Please do not wait as symptoms are unlikely to be resolved without treatment.
He needs to be investigated to find out the cause of bleeding .
Please consult qualified Urologist at earliest for clinical assessment and evaluation to find out the cause of his symptoms.which could be due to any of the following diseases 1) Enlarged Prostate or cancer of the prostate. 2) Stone disease either in klidney or Ureter, bladder.
Dr.Patil.
Thanks and regards
