Severe Cough, Pain In Lower Back, Radiating Through Ribs, Sneezing, Coughing, Yawning Causes Pain. Causes?
I had a severe cough weeks ago and it seemed to have ruined my back. On the lower right side it hurts and seems to radiate up through my back right ribs. It also hurts if I breathe in, cough, sneeze or yawn. What can this be? I m guessing it s either a popped disk, strained muscles, or bruised ribs. What do you think?

It seems that this might be due to strain of muscles due to severe coughing.
But as you got more pain while breathing and radiates on back ribs, chances of having pleural effusion should be ruled out.
Go for x-ray to rule out pleural effusion or pneumonia.
