Hi,I am Dr. Subhankar Chakraborty (Gastroenterologist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Severe Acidity, Bloating, Drained And Exhausted After Bowel Movement
I feel so drained and exhausted after a bowel movement (which is a long and slightly straining process, even when it is diarrhea it takes a while). I have to sit down, my head feels completely drained of mental power. I feel like I just need to lay down and catch my breath. I also have severe gas and bloating. I don't know what to do. It's become so embarrassing
Hello You described the sensation as drained and exhausted, can you please put some light on it. 1)Do you feel relaxed after the bowel moment? 2)Do you have uneasiness/vague pain through out the day once you start eating? 3)Age? 4)How long have been these symptoms? 5)Any associated condition like diabetes or recent past infection of bowel? 6)How is the bowel frequency, consistency and caliber of the stool? These answers might help us to guide you. Coming to a partly conclusion i think this is Irritable bowel syndrome or Bowel akinesia secondary to Infection quite difficult to differentiate. Though the exact cause can be told only after the examination and the history. Hope my suggestion help. Awaiting your response. Thanking you Dr Samir
