SP Catheter In Wrong Position. Dwelling Catheter Causing Swelling And Bleeding.

I had a sp catheter change tSP catheter hat went wrong, the sp catheter ended up in the wrong position, I experienced the most awful pain. Ended up having the sp catheter removed and a in dwelling catheter put in. After 6 weeks I can start using a flip flow again, and a further 6 weeks later having another sp catheter put in, this will be my 3rd one in a year. My worry is with the in dwelling catheter I am getting very sore and bleed from my private area. I am a 64 year old female with urethral stricture due to radiotherapy treatment 30 years ago.

I really understand your problem, catheter need periodic cleaning with povidon solution mix with saline water ( Povidon wash) I would advise you to start doing it then there may not be any problem and the catheter may last long, have nice day
