Regular Tightness In Chest, Worsened After Excessive Drinking. Addicted To Smoking, History Of Asthma, Anxiety. Help

I am a 38 year old male, who in the last two to three years, experiences chest tightness regularly. It happens most within the first two hours of the day. Usually goes away after a shower. Worsens the day after excessive drinking. Beer seems to be fine, just no wine or liquor (used to be able to drink wine/liquor). If I drink too much beer, I do get the same effect. I am very addicted to smoking. The "Chest tightness" will go away when I drink beer only to return in the morning. I have a history of asthma. Some days I wake up and feel completely fine, but can never predict what kind of a day it will be. Some days it will stay with me the entire day. Some, it will go away. But is more and more frequent. I also experience anxiety regularly, and will manifest itself through physical symptoms. Usually cannot tell what is happening, or that a current symptom is related to the anxiety. My anxiety will appear as neck pain, back pain, chest tightness (I think) etc.... Thank you for your response.
Best.

Hello,
Thanks for the query to H.C.M. Forum.
I am sorry to say that you are an asthmatic patient and in spite of this SMOKING i.e.spoiling your life.
As smoking precipitate the attack of asthma and also aggravate the symptoms of asthma, so first of all , if you are serious towards of your life then get rid of smoking.
Chest congestion , sudden attack of cough in the early hours of the morning are an indication that condition of asthma is not good and heart involvement
's chances are there.
Usually early in the morning causes lowering of temperature hence there develops chest tightness and difficulty in breathing , as all these are not good sign. Consult a physician and get his opinion regarding asthma.
Dust, mite, smoking, pollen. spray, fumes, sudden rise and fall of temperature all are predisposing factor of asthma so avoidance will help you.
Alcohol also lower the immunity , that is not good for asthmatic patient. As far as concerned about anxiety you should consult a psychiatrist and get his opinion.
Good luck. DR. het
