Reddish Sore Area On The Foot. Have Diabetes. Scab Formation. Worried About The Wound Not Healing

Hello, I am female age 54 with type 2 diabetes (newly dx). I have a small red, sore area on inner aspect close to top of left foot. It doesn't drain or smell...approx 2cm area. It is ridged slightly on border, small white "dot" in center of area. Will drain a scant amount (of odorless seros drainage) if covered with bandaide. I leave it open to air most of the time...At times is feels sore (as if it was a blister). There is a very faint dark discoloration (as if "shadowed") under this red spot. The dark area involves approx. 1 inch. I have dry whitish thin dry and firm pale "scabbing at site" that every so often "sloughs" off on it's own. I have had this area as noted for at least3 months. It will not heal.....help.Deb

Hello,
Thanks for the query to H.C.M.Forum.
Diabetic are very prone to infection,if diabetes is not under control than condition become more worse.
This is a diabetic foot.
1==Neurupathic foot, warm, dry, painless and feeling of pulsation.
2==Neuriischemic foot, pain at rest, ulceration at the margin of foot, necrosis, gangrene.
3==Infected foot this is most common and either due to tight shoe,or due to mild trauma, pressure over foot due to cross legs.
Still this wound (red spot with white mark in the center) is grade "0" ( According to Wagner classification there are 1,2,3,4,5, grades).
So please consult a diabetologist and take his advice.
Regulation of blood sugar round the clock is necessary in a diabetic patient.
Get in regular blood sugar examination.
Hope I have answered your query. If any further question I will be happy to help.
Wish you speedy recovery.
