Recurring Dark Itchy Patches In Areolas. Using Cortisone And Moisturizer. Allergic To Fragrances. Cure?
Hi, i have had dark itchy patches on both areolas on and off for the past couple pf years. Usually when I use cortisone and a moisturizer they go away. It is one round patch the size of a nickel on each side. I mentioned it to my Ob gyn but I didn't have them during my check up. Also, I am allergic to several things including fragrances, balsam of peru and others. I am not sure if this could be a reaction to the bra? Please advise.
Hi thanks for writing to H.C.M.You are suffering from nipple eczema.Since you are allergic to many things ,you may have possibility of atopic eczema occuring over breast areas.Start using a mild steroid antibiotic combination like flutibact over affected area.Keep area dry and clean.Do not apply any harsh soaps or antiseptics over affected area.Use loose and cotton undergarments.Take antihistamincs if required.Take care.
