Recovered Form Pneumonia. What Causes Severe Back Pain And Coughing Up Fleshy Lump?
My husband has a lot of pain in his back under his ribs since Nov. He has been to the E.R. and has been hospitalized repeatedly. He just recovered from a bout of pneumonia a few weeks ago. Last night he coughed up a fleshy looking lump. What could be the cause?
Thanks for your question on HCM. I can understand your situation and problem. Fleshy looking thing can be 1. Blood clot 2. Thick mucus So better to consult pulmonologist and get done 1. Repeat chest x ray 2. Sputum microscopic examination. Repeat chest x ray is needed to see whether his pneumonia has recovered or not. Sputum examination is needed to rule out blood and infection. So better to get done above reports and start appropriate treatment.
