Reason For Sudden Hot Flashes With Vomiting

I was totally fine this morning and this afternoon until about 2 p.m. I ate and then suddenly I felt very sweaty, I thought I was having a hot flash since I am 42 years old and just had a baby. I continued to sweat and then vomited. I have not been able to keep anything down, not even water, since I started sweating suddenly. I called the local E. R. they said every symptom I have it exactly the same as everyone else coming in and its a violent flu going around that hits you suddenly and their is nothing you can do about it except tough it out and drink water, which as I previously stated, I cannot keep down. Do you agree with the answer I got when I called the E.R.? Do you feel like it is the stomach flu? Do you know how long this thing is lasting this year?

Hi.
The flu is contagious and the ER people know about this by experience. So probably it is stomach flu and takes around 3 to 5 days to settle. You may need IV fluids as you not tolerating orally. May be an injection to stop vomiting and symptomatic treatment.
