Rashes Looking Like Blood Under Skin In Lower Legs, Ankles When Exposed To Sun. On Medication For Heart Condition. Suggest

Ankle/lower leg rash not raised bumps but looks like blood under skin - only in heat if legs have been exposed to the sun. Suffering from heart condition and on medication. First started on holiday in south africa - no swelling only the redness similar to early bruising - went when we arrived back in England. Returned yesterday in the heat.

Dermatologist 's  Response
Hi,

It seems that you developed actinic purpura.

You have ecchymotic patches developing on legs after expoure to sun...right?

This suggests that you are having actinic purpura.

Hovever, you consult dermatologist for perfect diagnosis.

Avoidance of sun exposure is a key part of the the treatment.

Local application of thrombophob oint. will ameliorate the lesions.

And oral vitamin C and K will be helpful.

Do not worry, the condition may improve by itself also.

You continue your cardiac medicines.

I hope you got my answer.

Thanks.
