Hi,I am Dr. Prabhakar Koregol (Cardiologist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Random Heart Palpitations, Discomfort. EKG, Stress Test, 24 Hour Monitor Test Normal. Precautions?
I am a 38 year old female. I have had heart palpitations off and on for the past 4 years. I have been to two cardiologists and had ekg , stress test, echo, 24 hr monitor and event monitor. All test came back normal. They did catch around 100 pvc in a 24 hr period. I still struggle to believe that my heart skipping is a normal activity. Yesterday they were very hard to handle. So far today nothing. What causes this to happen so randomly and is there anything you can say to give me peace of mind
Hi
I presume by palpitation you mean missed (extra) beats? / There are many other events, people loosely call palpitation
100 extra beats in 24 hours are NORMAL - it occurs practically in everybody!
What the mind does not know, the eyes do not see - you may be a bit nervous! Learn to ignore them.
If they are very troublesome - disturbing routine life style - your cardiologist can do more tests...
Good luck
