Hi, Thanks for using Healthcaremagic, No these are same tablet which are used for angina and they are smooth muscle relaxants so is useful in esophageal spasm also. The drug periactin that is cyproheptadine is more likely to cause palpitation and fast pulse rate. It belongs to the group of antihistamine and anticholinergic and anti serotonin effects. You should bring it to the notice of treating doctor and if necessary Periactin can be stopped and see if Isosorbide relives esophageal spasm. If it is necessary to give there are many drugs which can control the heart rate. You can always take a second opinion. Hope this information helps. Wish her good health. Take care.
