Prescribed Amoxicillin For My Son. Can I Give Him? Dosage?

I took my 18 month old to a minor med today. I do not feel very comfortable about the dr who saw my son. It seemed like he was not experienced with children. he prescribed him amoxicillin.....
the dosage he gave him is 125mg/5ms susp 150 ml
directions say shake liquid well and give 1 tsp. 3 times/day for 10 days. Does this dosage seem correct?

Hi,

You fail to mention the symptoms and weight of your son.

Amoxicillin is an antibiotic and the dose could range between 40-50 mg/kg/day in 3 divided dose.if the child is 10kg then the dose would be 4ml 3 times .If your child is more than 10kg then this dose seems alright.

The common side effect of this medication is loose motions in few children which subsides when the antibiotic is stopped.
