Pregnant. Have Lump Above Pubic Hair Line. Family History Of Twins. What Are The Chances Of Having Twins?

Im 5 weeks and 2 days pregnant and i have a lump right above my pubic hair line on the right side. Could this be twins , t runs in my family very genetically , I am a twin , my mother is a twin , and get twin brother had twins , so is it possible that I m showing ? It possible to be showing this early in my pregnancy. ? I am only 5 weeks and 2 days which is in my first trimester. Please help. Thnk yu

Hello, I would be happy to help you with your question.

While it is entirely possible that you too have twins, you would not be "showing" at just 5-6 weeks pregnancy. In all likelihood, the uterus could not be felt above the pubic bone with twins until after 12 weeks.

What you might be noticing is a hernia which is a small defect in the abdominal wall. It often appears as a bulge on one side or the other. You should bring this to the attention of you doctor when you go in for an ultrasound at which time you will also see if you too are having twins!!
