Hello,
If your wife has regular 28-30 day cycles, going by the last menstrual period, fetal cardiac activity should be visible in a trans-vaginal sonogram by now. Failure to detect so could happen due to poor visualization, delayed conception or a missed abortion. Repeat sonogram with high resolution coupled with serial serum beta-hCG titres is of much benefit as doubling titres every 2-3 days indicate good progress of the pregnancy. Hope you find this information useful. Take care.
