Period is late. Had sex. Pregnancy test negative. Advice?

In June 2012 I went off of my pill for my own reasons. I missed a period in September but began to regulate from November 2012-January 2013. The first day of my last period was January 27th. My cycle seemed to have been about 30 days which makes me ~5 days late. My S.O. and I were using condoms most of the time, but there were also a few occasions where we used the pull-out method and if I am trackingmy period correctly I would have been ovulating the most recent time we pulled-out. I have taken 2 pregnancy tests from the same EPT box and both came out negative. I haven t felt stressed until now. Any help and advice is appreciated!

Pregnancy is possible only, if unprotected sexual intercourse is done with ejaculation around ovulation time in regular period. Ovulation occurs approx 14 days before due date. Though using condom has 15% failure rate whether in pull out method 15-28%.

Therefore, you need to rule out pregnancy by doing one blood test for beta-HCG at the earliest. Early pregnancy test may give negative result.

Other reasons for delayed period are hormonal imbalance (most common in this context), stress/ anxiety/ mental upset, irregular diet pattern, wt change, thyroid disorder etc.

Consult with your gynecologist for relevant examination & investigation like USG pelvis, complete hormone profile etc

Avoid stress by regular deep breathing, take healthy diet with iron supplements, keep bowel habit regular, maintain personal hygiene and take proper sleep.

Be well & take care.
