Passing Excessive Gas, Sharp Pain In Rib Cage, Diarrhea. Due To Excessive Consumption Of Diet Coke?

I ve been farting really bad lately, almost constantly for the past 2 days. My right side, at the bottom of the rib cage had a sharp, clenching pain earlier today for at least half an hour and that happened again tonight. While the second sharp pain happened, I was going to the bathroom normally then started having diarrhea , I also drink a lot of Diet Coke and I have for a while now, I m 17 years old.

It is very possible that Diet Coke might be responsible for your digestive symptoms because of it various chemical contents, but no definitive conclusion had been reached concerning this. So it will be best if you could get consulted by a gastroenterologist and get tested (stool exams and blood tests). You may need to stop the diet coke for a while and see if you have any improvements without any other medications (if that happens, then diet coke is most likely going to be the culprit). It may also be as a result of infection especially yeast (only stool exams could determine that).
