About 4 years Ago I had my parotid gland removed because do a cancerous tumor. I underwent 6 weeks of radiation and now I am experiencing a tightness and tenderness in that area. It feels like it rate swollen but does not look that way. I also have constant dizzy headaches but suffer with allergies which cold be the cause of the headaches. I am becoming grumpy and hard to live with because of this constant feeling of pressure in that side. My ear also hurts but have been checked for an ear infection and there was none. Any ideas?

Oncologist, Surgical 's  Response
Dear Sir/ Ma'am,

Sorry to hear about your problem. Is this condition associated with sweating over the site of the surgery? Tightness and funny feeling over the surgery site is common because of some nerves that are cut during surgery. There is no reason to have headache and dizziness due to this surgery. You should visit a surgeon and schedule a CT scan of the head and neck region to see if there is some problem in the brain.

Hoping for the best.

General & Family Physician Dr. Veera Raghava Rao Buddha.'s  Response
Hi, you got operated 4 years back with the cancerous grouth of parotid gland and got radiation, the effects will be last for five years, there may or may not be metastasis, if there is remnant malignant tissue.
If you consult an oncologist immediately, there is every chance of getting cured. If nothing of that sort is there you will be free of tension.
Thanks for calling.
