Hello,
I am a 28 year old reasonably fit and active male. i woke up the other day with a dull pain in my groin area. it persisted for the next 36 hours. it was all very intermittent. along with this i have had stomach discomfert. again, all very intermittent. never isolated to one area. it could be lower right of my abdomamin or the upper left. its a very mild pain. over the course of the past few days it has gotten somewhat better. i have nowpain near my groin hardly at all. now im just left with intermittent pain in my abdomin. when i wake up in the morning i feel almso 100% but as the day progresses and i work, its becomes noticably worse. the job i work at is a active one. i walk at least 8 miles everyday.i havnt had a bowl movement in 36 hours and the one previous was green.also i ahve been faily fatigued. i have no ther real symptoms other than what i stated. no past major medical issues. i am a fairly hevay drinker though. i say 5 nights a week. any suggestions? or thoughts?
thank you
Austin

Based upon the info you have shared, your stomach upsetting is most likely the result of heavy drinking on most of the week days. It is called gastritis, which could have started suddenly (acute gastritis), which could not resolve itself, because of the almost regular drinking pattern, and now settling as subacute to chronic. In simple language, this is toxic injury to the inner lining of the stomach, caused by alcohol.
Your dull groin pain could be an altogether different problem. It may be because of the constipation, or flatulence, as it is shifting from one place to another. Or remotely, chances of some type of colitis can be there related with alcohol ingestion.

Psychiatrist Dr. Anjana Rao Kavoor's  Response
Hi,
Thanks for writing in.

You need to take a surgeon's consultation. The symptoms could relate to many conditions what need to be ruled out by clinical examination.

A list of conditions causing your pain could be:
Renal or ureteric stones
Inguinal hernia
Bowel infection
Indigestion
Bowel obstruction

Proper examination is the key to diagnosis. If necessary your doctor will put you through Ultrasound scan and blood tests.

Hope this helps.
