Hi,
This complication of a lumbar puncture is known to happen but is not common. The nerve has be irritated by the needle and may take a few more days or possibly weeks to recover. It is not a permanent injury. I suggest you rest when the pain is bad. Take paracetamol and ibuprofen to help with the pain and inflammation.
Regards,
Dr K A Pottinger,
