Pain In Abdomen And Chest, Burning Sensation In Throat. Taking Rabeprazole

in the middle of last night,around 2:30pm i experienced sever pain in the area of my upper abdomen and center of my chest and urge to use the washroom then pain on my left arm spread to my left back,neck,ear, and burning sensation in my throat. i took one of my prescription(RABEPRAZOLE EC 20MG) and after half an hour i felt a little better, but my arm, left back still hearts.
my concerns is it gerd or something else?
my age is 46 years old.
i have a good health record except that i have(GERD)

Thanks for the query to H.C.M. Forum.
If I were your treating doctor for this acute chest pain radiating to the left side of arm and shoulder joint, I would come up with these possibilities , these includes.
1 Heart disease , diagnosis can be confirmed by E K G , ECHO , lipid profile and physical as well as clinical examination by a physician .
2 Acute gastritis ( hyper acidity ) ,diagnosis can be confirmed by upper G I endoscopy . Over eating , spicy food , greasy food , alcohol , drinks with caffeine in them or coffee on previous evening may be responsible for this pain . In such type of situation usually antacid (oxetaciane in them ) helps at once .
3 The next reason may be acute pancreatitis , diagnosis can be confirmed by physical examination , serum amylase , lipase examination.
In my opinion the deal according to above mentioned reasons , consult a physician and get his opinion.
