Pain And Swelling In The Elbow. Cortisone Shots Prescribed. Need Solution
I am going to be 48 this year & am a male. I have had pain in my right elbow over past few years, even to just touch in one area. My family doctor sent me for therapy & the therapist has recommended cortisone shots every 5-6 months. I have had 3 shots so far, the last one was 4 months ago. In the last week I have noticed an indentation just before my elbow, which goes in about a quarter of an inch & is 2 1/2 to 3 inches long... also my elbow is swollen & the pains I am experiencing radiate all the way up my arm to the shoulder, my entire arm is very sore, seems like I have no strength(?) also today I could barely get my rings on my fingers...
I hope you can help with telling me why I am experiencing this in my elbow, all the way up my arm, losing strength etc...

You have said that you are having pain in your right elbow for past few years and under treatment from your family doctor. Also mentioned that you take costrisone shots for that. Now that there is an indentation just above your elbow and soreness with some sort of weakness, I suggest you immediately get consultation from an orthopedic surgeon if you have not done it before. You may never know if there is something more than the pain, something like an infection or bone fracture with nerve involvement. You also may need X rays and other clinical investigations.
