I had my colon removed in May 2012 within a week after I had emergancy surgery for a twist in the small intestine .. every since Ihave had a severe pinching pain at the same side beside my Illiostomy.. I have had CT scans..MIR.. and the doctors have nothing.. they have given me Morphine that doesnt help.. Percocets .. they dont work and even Fentnyal patches all not touching the pain... an opinion would be great.. I dont know what to do..the pain is killing me.. Thank you.

General Surgeon 's  Response
Dear sir,it is hard to believe that all these medicines cant help you. Did they think of parastomal hernia. it doesnt need to be seen on CT. If you have such a persistent pain then revision of ileostomy should be done. Complete colon removal is a mutilating procedure and many complications can be expected but the source of pain must be evaluated. Diagnostic laparoscopy can be preformed. But also this could be neuopathic pain so you can consult with your neurologist what to take. There are medicines szch as Lyrica which can be helpful.

Wish you good health.

it is pathetic for you.you have taken all the possible analgesic for this pain but not relieved.now it is a question that is it organic, neuropathic or functional.at first you will consult a neurologist,if no result then go to a psychiatrist.
