Overweight, Higher Heart Rate Of 115-125 Bpm . Is It Normal?

Hi I am 29yrs old weigh 240lbs, and 5'8 I dont have any medical condition, dont drink or smoke. However my heart rate has always been 115-125bpm as far back as I can remember, when I hear about others, mine is comparatively high, is it normal? should I be concerned, 2yrs ago i talked to one physician and he laughed it off saying nothing to worry, maybe high is your normal, does it work like that?

Hello,
Thanks for the query to H.C.M. Forum.
Heart beat more than 100 / minute is known as tachycardia .
Whatever may be the reason , it is a cause of concern.
In your case weight is 240 lbs & height is 5'8" . This overweight may be the reason of tachycardia , but we should rule out any disease . Diagnosis can be confirmed by E K G , E C HO , treadmill test .
In my opinion consult a cardiologist and get his opinion to rule out any heart disease.
Good luck. Dr. HET
