Overweight. Had Esophageal Dilation. Have Great Appetite. Is It Because I Have High Metabolism?

Hello, my name is Nathan and I have some concerns over my weight. I am 19 years of age and weigh 48kg (I am approx 166cm tall). I had a Esophageal Dilation about 7 years ago after years of not being able to eat properly. Since then I am able to consume food and drink fine, and I have a great apatite. The problem I'm facing is that the last 2 years my weight has stayed near the same as it is now, and I find it hard to put on weight.

I am starting to wonder if I have high metabolism, I'm just trying to seek advice and any suggestions you might have?

Thank you!

Hello
Thaks for using Healthcaremagic. Your BMI is 18.75. You are in normal range of WHO BMI Scale. But you are in lower end of cut- off point of normal range of BMI scale. If you have the problem in swallowing food or water, please do Endoscopy or other investigation as per Gastroenterologist advice. if possible , do dilatation once again. Drink plenty of water.Eat frequent but small carbohydrate rich meals.Eat lots of fruits and vegetables.Do not drink coffee.Do not eat processed foods. Reduce dairy products.

Take care
