On Sustain. What Is The Meaning Of Continued Negative Results On Pregnancy Tests?

hi i had negative preganancy result 27 days over have gone for my period, my last period were on 12aug2012. doc had prescribed sustain200 for seven days which I had taken & now 4 days after taking the tablets still the preganancy test is negative nor my periods have came. need your guidence for clarification as I m confused & worried

Hi,
Thanks for the query.
After taking progesterone pills sometimes it may take around 7 days for onset of withdrawal bleeding.
If you want to rule out the possibility of pregnancy better to go for blood test for pregnancy.
Which will give more accurate result than urine test.
If the result comes negative you wait for 4 more days possibly by that time you may get withdrawal bleeding.
If you do not get withdrawal bleeding even after that better to undergo ultrasound which will possibly detect the cause for withdrawal bleeding like poly cystic disease etc, and treatment can be taken accordingly.
