On And Off Sharp Pain In Ankle And Bottom Of Foot Increased During Early Morning. Thoughts?
Intermittent ankle pain. Most of the time fine--perfect, but sometimes, randomly get Sharp pain mostly localized to point below inside ankle bone But occasionally above ankle and occasionally across bottom of foot. Seems to be worse in morning when first put weight on it. Goes away in a few minutes and might return anytime during the day-- Or not at all. Dominant feature: random and unpredictable, else 100% fine. Am a male senior (69) in good shape. Play softball no problem.
Sharp & localized pain occuring ocassionally and during specific movements suggests a strain of the soft tissues either ligaments or tendons when they are subjected to stretch.
There is absolutely nothing to worry about this as this is considered as Physiological. Local ice packing and a pain killer gel application will suffice. Physiotherapy in the form of stretching and strengthening of the musculo tendinous units will help in resolving your symptoms.
Hope this information is helpful. Good day
