Numbness, Tingling In Fingertips, Pain In Arms, Hands, Chills In Fingers. Causes For Symptoms?

What causes my fingertips to feel numb and tingly? Sometimes there is pain from the inner arm that goes to my hand . At first my middle finger would get cold and tender then the tip of it would get numb and tight. Later my ring finger on the same hand began to do the same thing. This has been going on for about 2 weeks.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello
Thank you for getting in touch with us. From what I see, you have been having numbness and tingling sensation in your fingertips. It would have been much better if you would have provided us with your past medical history so that we would have been able to come to a final diagnosis. Neuropathy can be caused due to a variety of reason like diabetes, vitamin B12 deficiency, trauma, autoimmune diseases (immune system attacking healthy cells in the body) etc. In most of these disease, the patient feels better if the underlying disease is treated. If you have an autoimmune disease, you should get a few blood tests to confirm it and start off with treatment right away.
