Not Able To Empty The Urinary Bladder Completely. Taking Etilaam, Stilnoct. Disc Bulge Noted In MRI. Could It Be Medication Induced?

my father is having urniation problems (not able to pass urine completely).
He had following drugs
1) Etliaam 5 mg for a week + franxit + Texidep (SOS) + Stilnoct for one week and then the sysmptoms arose.
He has now discontinued all and is on Uvox 50 mg. Problem persists
Prostate is ok. MRI brain / spine show normal condition - however there is bulge in L5-S1 region. But father did not have any pain or other symptons related to disc bulge earlier.

My questions
1) Can above drugs independently or in combination cause urination difficulty/ blocakge.
- My father used to take ambulax FM earlier (understand same as franxit) but it never caused problem.
2) can anxiety lead to urination difficulty (acute and sustained).
3) what can be other reasons

Urologist 's  Response
Hello
Thanks for your query.Based on the facts that you have posted it appears that your father has been taking antidepressant drugs which have sedative action and has been facing problem of incomplete emptying of bladder.
Though he has disc prolapse it is unlikely that his symptoms are due to disc bulging,
His urinary symptoms could be due to enlarged prostate which is common at this age .
Please consult qualified Urologist for clinical and digital rectal examination to rule out this possibility.
