Need Medication For Running Nose, mild Cold & Fever

My 4 month old has been hoarse/raspy for a week and a half. He has a runny nose (clear discharge) and had been developing a mild cough. No fever. His doctor said Monday that it is allergies, but he just woke up with a deeper, raspier, almost barky cough. His breathing is almost wheezy at times. Should I be concerned?
