My son has hypothyroid nad short stature, please suggest

My son has hypothyroid. He is under treatment and maintaining normal levels throughout. However he has short stature. He has always been a colicky baby. Age WT HT 6days 6lbs 18.5`` 4mths 11lbs 23`` 7mths 13lbs 24`` 1yr 21.5lbs 28`` 1-1/2yrs 24lbs 32`` 2yrs 23lbs 33`` 3-1/2yrs 25lbs 33.5`` 4yrs 32lbs 37`` 6yrs 16kg 7yrs 17kg 101.2cms As is apparent, hisgrowth has been irregular. Could you please tell me the reason for this? And what if any tests need to be performed? Other factors : • He has suffered frequent and severe bouts of cold and cough over the first 5 years (almost every two months). Treatment included antibiotics and steriod and complete AKT for 9months. • He is a poor eater that is to say that although he eats sufficient quantity, his diet is limited to few items of food. • His bone age is below his age. (at the age of 4 he showed a boneage of 2 and at 7 that of 4 years). • Although he was a colicky baby and went thru a period of being constipated, he has not had noticable stomach related problems.

sir, conginatel hypothyroidism is hormonal imbalance if he is under treatment hormonal are mainted so short stature is not due to hypo,it may be familial,he has been treated for other aliments, treated successfully for recuurant inf and akt, his appitite normal now, bone age may be familial, constipation may be due to food habbit ,kindly consult endocrinologist for furthue clinical evaluation.

My 11-year-old son is very small for his age and has been for a number of years. His bone age test results have consistently been 2 to 2 1/2 years below his chronological age. We ve had no explanation for his short stature, but during recent lab work and ultrasound it was found he has a slightly enlarged liver, elevated liver enzymes (though not severely), and elevated sed rate which he always seems to have. We can t seem to figure out what might be going on and what to do.

Hello Doctor! My son is almost 8 years old and short stature. My doctor ordered blood test and bone age X-ray for him. The result is that TSH , T4, and SED Rate all fall into normal range. However, the CBC is abnormal. Low HGB, HCT, MCV, MCH, and RDWSD, high EOS and IG. The doctor refered my son to endocronologist. My question is why the doctor send my son to the endocronologist? What is your idea about my son s CBC results? I appreciate it!

Hello Doc, My name is Shuba and I have a 2 month old daughter. I feed her Nan 1 around 90ml, 3 scoops 4 times a day as my milk is insufficient. She passes stools normally 3 - 4 times in a day. I also breast feed her every 2-3 hours. The problem occurs at night. She cries a lot and makes some loud grunting noises as though she is applying lot of pressure to pass stools and has some uneasiness in her stomach. This goes on for 1-2 hours. Once she passes her stool she stops crying. During the day she is normal, only at night this problem occurs. When I try to feed her during this time she has 2-3 sips and cries again. I wanted to ask u if this is normal behavior, also if I can give her Aristozyme drops and what dosage? Is she having stomach pain? I also tried giving her drops for infant colic called colicaid but it did not help.

A 14 year old boy arrives in the emergency room with a razor slash in the right lower quadrant of his abdomen from the level of the 11h rib to the pubic symphysis. The layers of the abdominal wall are divided, the peritoneum opened, and the bowel extravasated. You repack the bowel, lavage the peritoneal cavity, start IV antibiotics and close the wound. The patient is kept in the hospital for 7 days, then sent home with wound care instructions and therapy orders.
4 weeks later he's back in the ER with sharp right lower quadrant pain, vomiting, dehydration and constipation. He reports that he recently had an abrupt loss of appetite and that he has not had a bowel movement in at least 5 days. He further states that he has experienced cramping and colicky pain periodically for the last 2-3 weeks, he has also experienced bouts of nausea. Physical examination reveals the patients right lower quadrant is full, tender, and distended; bowel sounds are hypoactive in left abdomen and upper pelvis. What is going on here and what is the treatment?
