lactose intolerance is a condition where a child is not able to digest the lactose sugar in milk or diet, due to "deficiency of lactase enzyme" which may occur due to genetic deficiency or some infection of gut causing temporary loss of gut skin.
it is suspected when stool test shows presence of acidic pH and free sugars in stool and the condition refverts to normal after completely stopping milk and sugar based feeds for at least 3 days ( one may replace it with soya milk). the diagnosis, suspect and therapy requires contimuous medical attention and supervision .

hello and welcome to health care magic, please give mothers milk as far as possible if mother has problem then you can give soy-milk ,low lactose milk products ,lactose intolerance develops
as some pre matured baby cannot produce enough of lactase needed for digestion but as the baby grows up to one year of age ,it can dissappear,
lactose intolerance can be of genetic orientation too ,take care

Hello, welcome to Healthcaremagic. Lactose intolerance is the inability to digest and metabolize lactose, a sugar found in milk. It is caused by a lack of lactase, the enzyme required to break down lactose in the digestive system, and results in symptoms including abdominal pain, bloating, flatulence, diarrhea, nausea and acid reflux. It is managed by avoidance of dietary lactose, substitution to maintain nutrient intake, regulation of calcium intake and use of enzyme substitute. You can use lactase supplements for your baby. COnsult your doctor to guide you in detail regarding feeding. WIsh your daughter good health.
